Hello! Spykefastians & Blockchain Enthusiastic!
We recently hosted an AMA with StackOS, on 20 April at 2 PM UTC. So here we are up with AMA transcript, for those who missed the live session, this post will be saver & feeder of knowledge for them.
Round 1 — Introduction Questions Asked By Spykefast
HunterX — Q1. Kindly give brief introduction about yourself, Crypto experience and your role at StackOS?
Vishnu Korde — I am the CEO and Chief Architect of StackOS, and have a background in engineering and have a patent in cryogenic engines which have been run at nuclear facilities. Have 2 master’s degree, one in International Business and a second one in Finance from Harvard University.
I bought my first bitcoin in 2012 🙂
and I proudly lost all of them and reducing the supply for everyone.. lol 😄
My background experience has been focused in could engineering (DevSecOps) and have build products and services which are cloud native and migrated really large organizations from datacentres to cloud
HunterX — Excellent credentials..must say..
Really impressed with you leading the StackOS project..😇
HunterX — Q2. Let’s talk in detail about #StackOS project. What are the main features of the project? And since when the project is in development?
Vishnu Korde — StackOS is a cross chain open infrastructure protocol that allows individuals to collectively offer a decentralized cloud where you can deploy any full-stack application, decentralized app, blockchain privatenets and mainnet nodes. The StackOS cloud being decentralized helps in anonymous application deployments, which are more secure, and costs much less and best of all; no one can stop your application! Our focus has been on building infrastructure which enables developers to be able to deploy an application in minutes instead of weeks compared to traditional cloud providers like AWS, GCP and Azure. We are also building an amazing marketplace which ties the StackOS ecosystem, where anyone can list applications that they write, and offer it as an NFT.
Resellers can sell and the original author gets incentivized.
StackOS has been in development for over 3 years… 🙂 we could have done our sale in the early part of this bull cycle, but we didnt want to until we were having a real product to use 🙂 so here we are… in the month of March-April, we are confident about our next steps
HunterX — Amazing to hear that. It’s the patience and hard work of the team that brought you and the project to what it is today….
we are here in an amazing bull run.
Appreciate the fact team has really focused on product development.. Rather than conducting their sale initially. 😍
HunterX — Q3. What are the major utilities of holding the #STACK token? How does team plan to enhance it value so as to attract users onboard?
Vishnu Korde — There are honestly a lot of utilities of using the $STACK token, but to give a few example:
1) Whenever cloud resources are bought, a small percentage is planned to be burned (managed by a DAO), making the token deflationary
2) you need to stake STACK tokens to be able to launch a node (and running these nodes generate revenue)
3) It is needed to genetrate NFTs for the application marketplace
4) The STACK token is used for governance when StackOS will be run by a DAO sometime in the future
5) We have built an ecosytem where any user in the community can draw the compute from the cloud providers (like AWS, GCP) and add that to the StackOS ecosystem. This is going to be as easy as a click on a button. 🙂
6) Liquidity mining
There is new Medium post, that will be made today 🙂 giving more insights…
HunterX — Yes.. The community is always interested in knowing what a Token can actually offer.
Summarizing.. 😄
Deflationary + running nodes + NFTs + Governance + liquidity mining and many more..
HunterX — Q4. What is the present progress of StackOS Platform development?
Vishnu Korde — After three years of building and a working testnet, on which hundreds of applications are deployed by developers, we are reaching mainnet. In synergy with that we are working on our GoToMarket strategy together with our strategic partners who have great experience in the cloud space. To name an example, Andrey Shirben from followtheseed.vc is a true veteran and of great value to have as an advisor for StackOS.
We have also made some killer psrtners/VCs who are stretegically alligned in getting more adoption to StackOS.. and ofcourse community building is what we are also working on…. its this community thats going to help us become the next Chainlink of the cloud computing!
HunterX — I find StackOS is a community project. Created by community of lead Developers, from all around the world.
Vishnu Korde — Mid last year, we released our infra mesh protocol, and then late december last year, we built the Beacon Node… and last month we released a soft testnet, which had 1000 applications deployed in few hours..
HunterX —Q5. Does #StackOS have any competitor? How is #StackOS Different from other similar platform?
Vishnu Korde — We basically aggregate compute from our main competitors are Amazon AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and datacentres, and add their compute to the StackOS protocol. These cloud providers are centralized and thus vulnerable for outages, and its also extremely hard to manage their infrastructure, thus making it insecure. StackOS has made this for developers who can deploy in minutes not having to worry about keeping their infrastructure secure. Also, these centralized providers can take your application offline if you don’t abide their set of rules, and StackOS solves that by making deployments anonymous… So basically we dont look at the competition as a competition, we use their weapon against them to reduce their monopoly 🙂 or simply put make them more efficient…
HunterX — Fantastic… 💥💥💥
I really like the attitude…👌
HunterX — Q6. What major events can we expect in the 2021 #StackOS Development Roadmap?
Vishnu Korde — Our major next steps are, IDO, then getiing the beacon nodes automated, then moving to mainnet, then NFT marketplace, and basically GoToMarket implementation. Of course community building… just like what I am doing right now 🙂
Then Moon 😛 lol.. not a financial advice
HunterX — So most of the token utilities are being targeted 😇
Vishnu Korde — correct! but the biggest supply shock comes from the nodes running, and the payments for the cloud resources…
HunterX — Q7. Well most of the people missed out on private sale. Can the team share details about public sale? Any partnerships to mention?
Vishnu Korde — well, yeah we were highly over subscribed, and I can say that its nothing to be dissapointed about, since our tokenonmics have been the fairest… only about 10% of the tokens are really avaiable to the private sale people, and they were also few in numbers…. 🙂 but the big things are yet to come, and we have only scratched the surface!
Public sale has been announced by BSCPad (BSC) and Iginition (Ethereum) launchpads.. 🙂 and that is going to be held on 23rd… please look into their documentation to see how to get whitelisted.
Round 2 — Questions Asked on Twitter & Telegram For StackOS
Anita Wiza — How does the StackOS team assess the risks associated with market uncertainty and volatility? Is there a market risk hedging mechanism to ensure user safety?
Vishnu Korde — All payments for the compute are based on the real time value of their staked cryptos (ETH, and other large cap cryptos), and they switch to STACK tokens only when the payment is initiated. So that takes away the volatility significantly. Example, ETH is far less valatile that what STACK token will be 🙂 Thats how we manage the volatility of the STACK token when being used for using the service…. if people are holding it as an investment (which they technically shouldnt, again not a financial advice) they are usually in it for the volatility … 🙂
Alicia Feest — What do you think about the boom of the NFT + DeFi association that is causing so much interest in the world? How does Your project take advantage of and exploit this reality?
Vishnu Korde — We were encouraged by the NFT idea, and hence plan to introduce it in our Marketplace… it truly solves a problem of rewarding the original author for the software they have developed.
SpaceMan — How do one qualify for the early access of StackOs, what is the possibility of StackOs partnership with some of the big centralized cloud computing entities in the future?
Is the stackOs cloud fully decentralized and has no direct influence from the team?
Vishnu Korde — Any one can go to our main website and click on the “Get Early Access” button to apply for the early access… we had realeased for the entire community earlier last month, and hence we had 1000 apps deployed in just few hours.
StackOS cloud is not fully decentralized, yet, since its in the testnet, but it is designed to be decentralized…. Let me put it this way: so its still decentralized becuase its using several different comupte providers… however we manage them… so not distributed.
Rennattaa — In the your website written StackOS provides Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI or CD) circuits, what are these circuits like? What is the advantages of having this chain for blockchain developers? give us some details of the advantages of the series.
Vishnu Korde — I remeber these same questions from another community too 🙂 but the admin didnt pick there… it will be a shame if I dont answer them… so here is my shot at it 🙂
We are not a blockchain protocol, we are an infrastructure protocol 🙂 The CI/CD systems are designed to enable developers to deploy their apps which not really touching the StackOS UI, so thats the biggest value add… it makes the dev process 50% faster.. which is huge.
Fern Chaa — I think in order for you to grow community, your decentralized cloud needs both compute resource providers and those that will deploying nodes. What is the mechanism has the team put in place to help reward program the various parties involved in the StackOS protocol?
I’m aware that the $STACK tokens are intertwined StackOS in the ecosystem, if you don’t mind telling us the role it plays and benefits or adventages of having it as a holder?
Vishnu Korde — There is an explainer video whic actually shares how each stakeholder in the StackOS ecosytem gets rewarded… i would encourage you to see that. Its also on our homepage… 🙂
